7th Annual Canada West Paddle Surf Fest

The VIWPS is offering a membership and events package for 08/09 (individuals only). For $50.00 you get your VIWPS/CKBC membership, and your Puntledge River Paddle Festival and Canada West Paddle Surf Fest registration paid at once. This package will save you $5.00 and will make things easier on you and ourselves. .
Surf Fest Registration
We will do all registration for this event prior to the Saturday, September 20/08 competition, for organizational reasons. The pre-registration deadline is September 5/08. This will give us ample time to finalize event structure. Late registration will cost you an additional $5.00. Your last chance to register will be between 5-9:00 pm at the Surf Junction Campground on Friday, September 19/08. *There will be a maximum of seventy competitors so be sure to pre register.* Pre-registration is $25.00 per competitor, $20.00 per adult participant, and $5.00 per teen (children are free). This includes the competition, insurance, camping, and chance to win a prize. You can enter more than one class for $25.00. The burger dinner and clinics will cost you extra. Sign up for clinics at the event. Pay for your dinner Saturday night. Print and fill out the below membership and liability waiver form, and mail it in with a check or money order payable to the VIWPS, 408-153 Wallace Street, Nanaimo, BC, V9R 5B2. Surf Clinics
Interested in learning how to paddle surf or improve on existing paddle surfing skills? We have the instructors for you.
Don Barrie and Rose Sirois of Warm Rapids Inn are excellent instructors and are running a beginner clinic starting at 11:00 am Saturday morning for $25.00 (limited boats and gear available). There is a 6:1 ration. They could run a second clinic if #'s warrant. Sign up on the Friday night of the event. Rob Cartwright (former national slalom and freestyle team member) is offering a two hour, four to one ratio, intermediate clinic starting at 11:00 am Saturday morning for $25.00. A second intermediate clinic could be run if the numbers warrant. Sign up on the Friday night of the event.
Party and Directions
The party and dinner will be at the Surf Junction Campground on Saturday night. The Surf Junction Campground is located just south of the Port Alberni, Tofino, Ucluelet junction. It is an awesome location for our get together. Activities include a slide show, video, sound, a burger concession, awards, a gear auction, and prize give a ways. *Bring your own booze.*
Dinner will be at the Surf Junction Campground Saturday night. Dinner will be an extra $10.00 per person. It will include your choice of hamburger, chicken burger, or veggie burger. Dinner comes with corn, salads, and a desert. Proceeds go to the Woodwins/PASS high school kayak program in Parksville. Pay for your dinner Saturday night.
