Membership

There are lots of reasons to join the Vancouver Island Whitewater Paddling Society (VIWPS). We hold events and races like the Puntledge River Paddle Festival, and the Canada West Paddle Surf Fest, and the Cowichan S-bend Slalom Race.  We have Canoe Polo.  We hold several society trips, throughout the year, all over Vancouver Island. We bring new people into our sport.  We promote safe boating through Whitewater Canada instructor and Swift Water Rescue Technician courses.  We maintain a web site which has a forum.  We publish our membership list on line.  We work on river access.  We work with the Puntledge River Water Use Planning Committee, to get better water releases out of the Comox Lake Dam. We also have a River Impact Committee, which gives us a unified voice, when working to stop micro-hydro electric projects that threaten to destroy the rivers we paddle. We are a member club of CanoeKayak BC - Whitewater. There is strength in numbers, so please join!

Becoming a member of the Vancouver Island Whitewater Paddling Society is simple.  Just print off the Word or PDF form below, fill it out, and mail it in with a cheque or money order payable to the VIWPS.  You can become a member of VIWPS/CanoeKayak BC - Whitewater for $15.00 an individual, per year, or $25.00 for a family, per year (includes married or common law couples).
