I did a little driving by Comox lake on Sunday. I noticed that the Cruickshank River seemed to have good volume in it:

After reading the above guide, I checked the Guage, and it is around the level that is good for paddling! Probably something to consider.

Have you done it? Is it more creeky or closer to the Adam in nature?
Just wondering if I need my creek boat or my playboat...

Well, Steve and I did not run the river as there were only the 2 of us, and there was some river beta on it having a class V section.
However, I got out there with my 4Runner and "car scouted" the river. There is indeed a class V section (I have no idea why that guide gives it a III+)
However, the rest of the river looks like a nice III+ from what I could see, and the V section certainly looks walkable (there is a forestry road on both sides, usually not a far walk from the water.)
I will post a photo of the V drop from where I could see it without falling off of a cliff! :) The class V section had a river wide log in it - and the log was way too large to cut with a handsaw. The kind of thing that we need Kev to go at with a big-ass chainsaw... Still, I would recommend walking the V section anyways. Not the best run for a playboat!
Still, the character of the river looks really interesting to me. The run might be longer than what I saw, there is a section of washed out road that I could get my 4Runner over to continue down the road, but any non 4X4 vehicle probably would not make it.
When I saw it, the river looked runnable, but quite low. I would agree with the 30cms level for running it.
