For those of you islanders who might like to paddle the Capilano when on the mainland, please note changes to the Capilano Webcam situation.
After months of WKABC not paying phone charges, Telus disconnected the phoneline. :( Hence, no Capcam images.
The Vancouver Kayak Club, in partnership with Mountain Equipment Coop (don't forget to visit them in North Van now too!) have paid for a new phone and have taken on the task of hosting the camera.:)
Volunteer VKC webmaster Phil is now working out the technical in order to have 'live' images on the web.
In the meantime:
"For now, anyone with a dial-up modem can call 604-980-3644 using HyperTerminal (Start-Programs-Accessories-Communications) or telnet, hit return for user and password and type sz fullsize.jpg to download a live image to your computer."
Thanks to MEC, Phil and the VKC exec.
Happy paddles, at the right levels!:D
