As Larry asked in another thread about resources, here are a few that I use to judge wave conditions:

(The linked wave plots from this page are great)

I know I've added this in other places but it is a great way to check out the surf realtime before a drive.

What site in Big Wave to you use?
I have used BC virtual buoys, La Perouse for Jordan River though i hardly go there. From the info there, i divide the waves in half which i heard gives an idea of the wave height at the beach. Also, not to go if wind is coming from the east. Any comment?

If wondering about conditions on the west coast - you are free to email us for the most uptodate info on weather. We use www.coastalbc.com - the weather page has many useful links. Willie likes the magicseaweed forecast - we are the north island section - it is quite accurate. Current swell height on La Parouse gives an idea which beach will have the most favourable conidtions - none right now because it is so huge and windy!
Saw people out surfing 5 foot clean waves at Salmon Beach - that is right, Salmon Beach, a couple of days a go. We were looking for tobaganing hills so didn't have our gear - will be prepared in the future!
