Surf Kayak Rental in Tofino

Hey -

I'll be out in Tofino from Sept 23-28 on my honeymoon. I do a lot of WW paddling around southern Ontario and looking to possibly do some surf paddling for a few hrs. Is there anywhere to rent a boat/gear?

Jo,
Nobody rents surf kayaks out here. You can probably pick up a ww boat at Alberni Outpost in Port Alberni to bring out for a few days, though.
Best bet is to get in touch with us when you come out and we'll probabably be able to pick something out of the quiver for you to play with. We just lend, no insurance for that kind of thing.

We do not rent out composite surf kayaks for obvious reasons, though we may still have the Valley surf kayak demo fleet from the Surf Fest with us, and as such might be willing to rent one of those composite boats out to you.

Yes, sorry, I should specify that "out here" means Tofino/Ucluelet. You can get ww boat rentals (and a few places have actual surf kayaks) in Port Alberni, Nanaimo, Victoria and Vancouver.

Thanks for the info and help. Picking up a boat outside of Tofino isn't going to be logistically doable for many reasons - Christine, thanks a lot for the offer. Not 100% sure when i'll be able to head out; is there an email i can reach you at?
