Will and I are heading up to Raft Cove for a surf/camping trip Aug 3-7th. We'll be leaving Port McNeill around noon on Sunday to catch the falling tide down the river in the late afternoon and coming out Thursday afternoon on the rising tide. Others welcome to join us through out the trip. Hopefully Willie's new surf boat (yes, another one!) will come in time for him to give it a good spin.

Fish - we'd love your company! It's a bit of a jaunt for a night ... but then you'd be able to go up by yourself later.

I picked up Willie's new Reaction in Vancouver yesterday and it looks pretty sweet - don't think you'd get into it, though (very short!). I think we're planning on taking our "quiver" and doing some swell dances so that maybe something bigger than a foot or two will come in!

I am going to try to swing it but I'm trying to buy a big sailboat to live on !!Anyway If I swing it , I'll just hike the trail down with my boat on my back and a bit of food ..... old school

We made it down late Sunday night (dodging fully-loaded logging trucks was something our friends needed some practice at - a tow out of a ditch was required) And while there was no surf, it was hot and sunny - no fog until the very last day. We went out in our boats just because we had brought them. But the claim to fame is Willie's Teva tan that he aquired in just three days!
Hope you had a nice trip down Friday night - how long did you stay?
Christine
