This is what a local Englishman River paddler told me.. (Personally, i haven't done the Englishman yet)

"The Englishman is very rain dependent and usually need min 5 -10 mm or rain 24 hrs before the run to make it really fun. Some info for you internet river watchers: The Englishman river become runnable at about 1.5m level (20cms) -class 2, get really fun at 1.8m level (60cms) class 2-3, and just a rocking fun time at anything above 2m (100+ cms) 2-3+. There is not level too high in the regular run. If we are lucky, it will be runnable.
Water level 1.5m or higher -regular Englishman River run.
Options for Water level below 1.5m: -run the lower fall 23 ft drop. It's really pushy above 1.5 m."
